Nancy A. Spector is a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust & Probate Law and an Accredited Estate Planner by the National Association of Estate Planners and Councils. For the past thirty plus years, she has concentrated her practice in the areas of estate planning, probate, trust administration, special needs trusts, and conservatorships.
Nancy graduated with honors from Western State University College of Law, holds a Master of Arts degree in American History from George Washington University and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Illinois.
Nancy is a former co-chair of the Probate and Estate Planning Section of the San Diego County Bar Association. She is a frequent lecturer of continuing education courses for attorneys, and for many years, was an instructor in the paralegal program at UCSD. In addition, she speaks at seminars for various organizations, including Oasis, the Girl Scouts San Diego, the Special Needs Trust Foundation, The Old Globe, Jewish Family Service, the Alzheimer’s Association, the San Diego Women’s Foundation, and the County of San Diego.
She was nominated as the outstanding fundraising volunteer by AFP, San Diego Chapter, in 2019; was honored to be awarded the Women Who Mean Business Award in 2011 by the San Diego Business Journal; was named a “Cool Woman” by the Girl Scouts San Diego in 2014; and has been named one of the Top Lawyers in San Diego by the San Diego Magazine every year from 2012 – 2019.
Nancy currently sits on the board of Just in Time, as well as the Advisory Board of the Friends of Balboa Park. She is also an active member of the San Diego Women’s Foundation and an avid supporter of the Balboa Park Conservancy, Inewsource, Women Give, and the Utah Shakespeare Festival.
Nancy is the past President of the Estate Planning Council, past Chair of the Professional Advisor Council of the San Diego Foundation, and former board member of the San Diego Foundation, Alzheimer’s Association, The Old Globe, The Library Foundation, and the Women’s Advisory Council for the Vista Hill Foundation.
Ms. Spector is well known for her success in recommending charitable giving to her clients and friends, so they can feel the joy of leaving a legacy to the community, oftentimes by establishing a donor advised fund at one of the community foundations.
Nancy has participated in fifteen Susan G Komen 3 Day Walks in various cities around the country, alongside her sons and good friends.
In her spare time, Nancy and her husband, Alan, are involved with a number of organizations and activities at Balboa Park, including the renovation of the playground at 6th and Upas, and she is an avid reader and theatre goer.
Nancy and Alan have four adult sons and eleven grandchildren, who definitely keep them busy!
Adam L. Sherry is an attorney specializing in estate planning, trust administration, and probate. Adam earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, from the University of California at San Diego, and a Juris Doctor degree from UCLA School of Law.
Adam is admitted to practice before the courts of California. He is a member of the California Bar Association Trusts and Estates Section and the San Diego County Bar Association Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law Section. Adam has been recognized by California Western School of Law for his contributions to their pro-bono Community Law Project. Adam and his spouse, Marley, enjoy spending time with their family and friends, and living in Point Loma with their rambunctious labradoodle.
Brenda A. Wolfe joined our firm in 1998 as a Trust and Estate paralegal. She has over thirty years of experience in estate planning and trust and probate administration. Brenda has a team spirit and assists with all aspects of our firm. Beyond the office doors, she spends most of her free time boating and basking in the sun with her husband.
Our team also includes a second paralegal. She has been working as a certified paralegal in a trusts and estates practice since 2013.
Patricia C. Webb joined our firm in 1996 as a legal secretary. Patty is a San Diego native who enjoys spending time with her three grandchildren.
Katelyn R. Cota joined our firm in 2017 as a legal assistant. Katelyn enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and dog.
